The plot summary
The film begins with Samar Dev (Priyanshu Chatterjee), a cop who is suspended for killing a gangster in Mumbai. He travels to Calgary, Canada, to search for another criminal named Aziz Khan (Manoj Pahwa), who is involved in drug trafficking and terrorism. There he meets Pakhi (Sakshi Shivanand), the daughter of a wealthy Indian businessman named Shyam 'Sam' (Om Puri), who owns a chain of restaurants. Samar and Pakhi fall in love at first sight, but Sam is not happy with their relationship. He feels that he has seen Samar somewhere before and suspects that he is hiding something.
Sam tries to find out Samar's true identity and background, but Samar manages to evade his questions. He also tries to sabotage their romance by hiring Jinni (Navneet Nishan), a woman who claims to be Samar's wife. However, Pakhi does not believe Jinni and trusts Samar completely. She decides to elope with him and get married secretly. Sam is heartbroken and angry, as he loves his daughter more than anything else.
Meanwhile, Aziz Khan arrives in Calgary with his wife Saira (Arundhati Roy) and son Jibran (Sajeel). He plans to carry out a bomb blast at Sam's restaurant on his daughter's wedding day. He also learns that Samar is after him and decides to kill him before he can expose him. He sends his men to attack Samar at his hotel room, but Samar fights them off and escapes.
On the day of Pakhi's wedding, Sam gets a call from Mohandas (Veerendra Saxena), an old friend from Mumbai who reveals Samar's true identity. He tells him that Samar is actually an undercover agent who was sent to infiltrate Aziz Khan's gang and stop his terrorist activities. He also tells him that Samar had killed Aziz Khan's brother in Mumbai, which is why he was suspended. Sam realizes that he was wrong about Samar and decides to forgive him and accept him as his son-in-law.
However, before he can reach the wedding venue, he is kidnapped by Aziz Khan's men and taken to his restaurant, where he has planted a bomb. Samar gets a call from Aziz Khan, who taunts him and tells him that he will kill his father-in-law and his bride. Samar rushes to the restaurant to save them, but he is stopped by the police, who have been informed by Mohandas that he is a wanted criminal. Samar manages to convince the police that he is an agent and gets their help to reach the restaurant.
At the restaurant, Aziz Khan threatens to detonate the bomb unless Samar surrenders himself. Samar arrives and confronts Aziz Khan, who reveals that he is actually Pakhi's uncle and Sam's brother-in-law. He blames Sam for the death of his sister, who was Pakhi's mother, and says that he wants to take revenge on him and his daughter. He also says that he hates Samar for killing his brother and ruining his plans. He shoots Samar in the chest and prepares to press the button.
However, before he can do so, Pakhi arrives and snatches the remote from him. She tells him that she knows that he is her uncle and that she hates him for what he has done. She says that she loves Samar and that he is her hero. She also says that her mother would be ashamed of him and his actions. She throws the remote away and hugs Samar, who is still alive as he was wearing a bulletproof vest. The police arrive and arrest Aziz Khan and his men. Sam is rescued and reunited with his daughter and son-in-law. He apologizes to Samar for his misunderstanding and blesses their marriage. The film ends with Samar and Pakhi kissing and smiling.
